I think it is paved by the passive aggressive vampires that feed off our fears and try to convince us with lies and half truths to keep us where they want us to be.
Lying is the WORST THING anyone can do to me.
Honesty, like the Billy Joel song "Is hardly ever heard".
It is so much more painful when the truth comes out after you have been lulled into a false sense of security. Thinking and believing the people you love are telling you the truth and then finding out it was all lies. They just say things to get what they want out of you. They want you quiet. They want you to do what they want. Then, the worst blow of all is when you do their bidding and they are still not pleased. And then they finally tell you the truth! After you have bent over backwards to do what they asked. And now they are angry and upset at you because it did not work out in their favor. So they fire the truth at you as if you should have known! It is like taking an emotional bullet! But there is no emergency care to heal the wound or sew up the gash they just made as they ripped through your soul!
And better yet, they make you the bad guy!God forbid that now you know what you should have known from the begging somehow you have injured them! Then the " poor me. how could you be upset with me, you made this happen, it's your fault etc." mirror gets hoisted in your face. The mirror is reflecting what they did to you and making you the reflection in it!
